Vehicle
2014 Audi A4

Title
Code 00256, Replaced Air Conditioning Pressure Switch

Complaint
The customer states the air conditioning is not operating correctly.

Cause
Connected a scan tool and found code 00256 – A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor (G395). With the key on, engine off, used the scan tool to monitor live data and found the air conditioning pressure switch signal parameter was not within the specified range. Disconnected the air conditioning pressure switch connector, visually inspected the connector and terminals and found no obvious signs of damage. Visually inspected the air conditioning pressure switch wiring harness and found no obvious signs of damage. With the key on, engine off, used a multi-meter to check for the presence of voltage and ground at the air conditioning pressure switch and found both were present. These test results verified the air conditioning pressure switch was faulty.

Correction
Replaced the air conditioning pressure switch, cleared codes, performed a road test and verified the vehicle operated properly.
