Title
C0585, Replaced Left Rear Suspension Control Actuator

Complaint
The customer states the service suspension light is on.

Cause
Connected a scan tool and found code C0585 – Left Rear Actuator Circuit. Visually inspected the left rear suspension control actuator wiring harness and found no obvious signs of damage. Visually inspected the left rear suspension control actuator connector and terminals and found no obvious signs of damage. Used the multi-meter to check for the presence of ground at the suspension control actuator and found ground was present. Connected a test light between the left rear suspension control actuator control circuit and the low reference circuit, turned on the ignition and used the scan tool to clear the codes. Commanded the left rear suspension control actuator on and off with the scan tool and found the test light turned on and off as specified. These test results verified the left rear suspension control actuator was faulty.

Correction
Replaced the left rear suspension control actuator, cleared codes, performed a road test and verified the vehicle operated properly. The service suspension light did not illuminate and no fault codes returned.
