  • SureTrack Real Fix: DFP Dilemma Solved

    Vehicle

    2013 Mitsubishi L200 2.5L Diesel

    Title

    P1498, Regenerated Diesel Particulate Filter

    Complaint

The customer states the check engine light is on, the vehicle is in limp home mode and the diesel particulate filter light is flashing.

    Cause

Confirmed customer complaint engine light on. Connected a scan tool and found code P1498 – DPF overloading. At idle, used the scan tool to monitor live data and found the diesel particulate filter pressure sensor signal parameter was not within specification due to component fault or diesel particulate filter blockage. Inspected the diesel particulate filter pressure sensor and found no faults. Used the scan tool to check the diesel particulate filter parameter for soot content and found the level was too high. With the key on, engine off, used a multi-meter to check for the presence of voltage and ground at the diesel particulate filter pressure sensor and found both were present. With the key on, engine off, used the multi-meter to measure the resistance of the diesel particulate filter pressure sensor circuit by disconnecting the control component connector and probed the respective connector terminals. Found the measured resistance was within specifications, which indicated there was continuity through the diesel particulate filter pressure sensor and the diesel particulate filter pressure sensor circuit. Performed a visual inspection of the diesel particulate filter and found no obvious faults. Disconnect the diesel particulate filter pressure sensor pipes and used a vacuum gauge to apply a vacuum to the diesel particulate filter, the results of this test were not within specifications. These test results verified there was a blockage in the diesel particulate filter.

    Correction

Regenerated the diesel particulate filter, cleared codes, performed a road test and verified the vehicle operated properly. The check engine light did not illuminate and no fault codes returned.

  • SureTrack Real Fix: 2014 Land Rover Freelander Fix

The customer reported that the check engine light was on in their 2014 Land Rover Freelander. After connecting a scan tool, a P00B8 code was found, indicating a correlation issue with the mass or volume air flow. A subsequent road test revealed a hissing sound, prompting a smoke test that identified a leak from the damaged charge air cooler hose. The hose was replaced, codes cleared, and a successful road test demonstrated proper vehicle operation with no fault codes or warning lights.

  • Sure Track Real Fix: Engine Light Solution

The customer reported that the check engine light was illuminated on their 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulietta 2.0l Diesel. After confirming the complaint, a scan tool revealed a fault code related to the Variable Displacement Oil Pump circuit. Monitoring live data showed the engine oil pressure sensor readings were out of specifications. A mechanical oil pressure test confirmed adequate pressure levels, while further tests indicated the sensor itself was faulty. Subsequently, the engine oil pressure sensor was replaced. After clearing the fault codes and conducting a road test, the vehicle operated correctly, with the check engine light remaining off.

  • Sure Track Real Fix: PCV Valve Victory!

The customer reported that the check engine light was on in their 2020 Skoda Kodiaq 1.5l petrol. A scan tool revealed a fault code indicating an intake air system leak. Using a smoke machine to test the intake system, no smoke was detected from the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve. However, further tests showed that the PCV valve was leaking as it failed to retain vacuum. To resolve the issue, the PCV valve was replaced, and after clearing the codes and conducting a road test, the vehicle operated properly with no illuminated check engine light or fault codes.

  • SureTrack Real Fix: Land Rover Suspension Struggle

Replaced the faulty air suspension compressor on a 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport 2.0L Petrol after diagnosing code C1A13. The ABS light was on, and testing confirmed the compressor did not respond. After replacement, codes were cleared, a road test was performed, and the issue was resolved. The ABS light remained off, and no fault codes returned.

  • SureTrack Real Fix: Audi A1 Throttle Trouble

A 2015 Audi A1 1.0L GB had a check engine light due to a faulty electronic throttle control motor. Diagnostics confirmed code P1558, indicating an electrical malfunction in the throttle actuator. After verifying voltage and testing the throttle valve, the faulty motor was replaced. A road test confirmed the fix, with no returning fault codes or issues.

  • SureTrack Real Fix: Movano EGR Malfunction

A 2021 Opel Vauxhall Movano 2.3L Diesel arrived with a check engine light and code P0400-00, pointing to an EGR valve issue. Diagnostics confirmed the valve wasn’t functioning properly. After verifying wiring and applying direct voltage, the faulty EGR valve was replaced. A road test confirmed the fix—no more check engine light or returning fault codes.
