Sometimes your best electrical issue diagnostic tool is the SureTrack Community. SureTrack community member ASC71241 had a Honda Accord in their shop that had the battery light coming on intermittently. They posed the question to the community, and with the help of fellow community member DAG1365 and others, they were able to resolve the issue quickly.

The following Community Fix summarizes the interaction between members of the community that led to the solution.

Vehicle
2003 Honda Accord EX 3.0L

Title
Battery light coming on, replaced ELD.

Complaint
Customer states that battery light is coming on at times.

Diagnostic Steps Performed/Parts Replaced
Test drove vehicle and found that battery light comes on for a few brief seconds when decelerating. Tested alternator and battery and all tested good. Replaced alternator due to the fact voltage was dropping when light would come on. Tested while driving with Modis. Also tried a new battery even though customer had recently replaced it. Still same scenario. Just looking for suggestions of what could be causing this

Best Answer from Community Member DAG1365
Check ELD (electrical load detection) sensor in fuse box for problems. Be sure you maintain battery charging volts on main cable of alternator too and cable is clean/good. Check ground cables as well.

Cause
Tested ELD and found that it was the cause.

Correction
Replaced ELD (Electrical Load Detection) sensor. Test drove vehicle and battery light did not come on at any time.
