2006 Chevrolet Equinox LS 3.4L

Title
B2600, B2602, Replaced Daytime Running Lights Resistor

Complaint
The customer states the daytime running lights are inoperative.

Cause
Connected a scan tool and found codes: B2600 – Daytime Running Lights Control Circuit and B2602 – DRL Relay Control Circuit Shorted To Ground. Turned the low beam headlamps on and found they operated properly. Disconnected the daytime running lights relay, used a multi-meter to measure the resistane between ground and the daytime running lights resistor voltage supply circuit at the relay connector and found the measured resistance was not within the specified range of 0.4-1.0 ohm. Inspected the daytime running lights resistor connector and terminals and found no faults. Used the multi-meter to check for the presence of a short or open in the daytime running lights resistor voltage supply and ground circuits and found there were no shorts or opens present. These test results verified the daytime running lights resistor was faulty.

Correction
Replaced the daytime running lights resistor, cleared codes, performed a road test and verified the vehicle operated properly.
