Title

C1A13, Replaced Air Suspension Compressor

Complaint

The customer states the anti-lock brake system (ABS) light is on.

Cause

Connected a scan tool and found code C1A13 – Pressure Does Not Decrease When Venting Gallery. Performed a visual inspection of the air suspension and found no obvious faults. Using the scan tool, commanded the air suspension compressor on and off and found the compressor did not respond. Inspected the air suspension compressor wiring harness and connector and detected no obvious faults.

With the ignition on and the engine off, used a multi-meter to check for the presence of voltage and ground at the air suspension compressor connector and found both were present. Using a set of fused jumper wires, applied voltage and ground to the air suspension compressor and found the compressor did not respond, indicating the air suspension compressor was faulty.

Correction

Replaced the air suspension compressor, cleared codes, performed a road test and verified the vehicle operated properly. The ABS light did not illuminate and no fault codes returned.
