Title
Code 008213, Replaced Engine Intake Manifold

Complaint
The customer states the check engine light is on.

Cause
Connected a scan tool and found code 008213 – Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor (Bank 1): Implausible Signal. Performed a road test while using the scan tool to view live data and found the engine intake manifold runner flap did not change position. Inspected the engine intake manifold position sensor, wiring and connections, but found no faults. Inspected the engine intake manifold runner flap actuator assembly and found no obvious concerns. Removed the engine intake manifold and found the runner flap was damaged. The engine intake manifold runner flap and engine intake manifold are serviced as an assembly.

Correction
Replaced the engine intake manifold, cleared codes, performed a road test and verified the vehicle operated properly.
