B3267, Replaced Body Control Module
Complaint
The customer states the deck lid does not open.
Cause
Connected a scan tool and found code B3267 – Deck Lid Relay Output Short To Ground or Open. Used the scan tool to monitor live data and found the deck lid release relay parameter indicated “Active”. Removed the deck lid release relay and found the deck lid release relay parameter still indicated “Active”. Disconnected the body control module connector, visually inspected the connector and terminals and found no obvious signs of damage. used the multi-meter to check for the presence of a short to ground or open in the deck lid release relay control circuit and found there were no shorts or opens present. These test results verified the body control module was faulty.
Correction
Replaced the body control module, cleared codes, performed a road test and verified the vehicle operated properly.
