No crank? Lights flashing? Beeping and whining noises? SureTrack community member JamesLee@scottsvilleauto had a Ford F250 Super Duty in their shop that wouldn’t start and was making a racket. They posed the question to the community, and with the help of fellow community member DAG1365 and others, they were able to resolve the issue.
The following Real Fix summarizes the interaction between them in the community that led to the solution.
Vehicle
2010 Ford Pickup F250 Super Duty 6.4L
Title
No crank, security system issues, replaced ABS module.
Complaint
No crank, theft light flashing, beeping in cab that gets steadily faster until the alarm goes off, high pitched whining under the hood with KOEO. Won’t communicate with the brake control module, instrument panel and another or 2 modules 2 can’t remember. Batteries were run down as well but both are fully charged now.
Diagnostic Steps Performed/Parts Replaced
Checked module communication with scanner. Tried different keys. Customer stated he parked it and got in it the next day and no crank. Not sure where to start?

Would check all powers and grounds to all computers and system first, may need PATS reprogrammed but need to find out why system is showing theft. No module? Voltage? Grounds? Or keys?
Cause
Found that the PCM wasn’t communicating as well. After taking the long way around I finally figured out that the ABS module was the common “non communicator.” Unplugged the ABS module and everything went to communicating and the truck now runs. When I pulled the plug out, two terminals were actually melted to and came out with the plug. So now I need an ABS module and possibly the connector as well.
Correction
Replaced ABS module and repaired terminals and connector. Vehicle operating properly.
